I get asked this question constantly: "Which venue should we pick?" and I never give the same answer twice, because it depends entirely on the couple asking!

But there are places on this island I keep coming back to.

Not just because they photograph well but because something genuinely happens there.

Here are eight of them!

Son Marroig

Perched on the cliffs above Deià, Son Marroig is the kind of place that makes grooms cry before the ceremony even starts. The marble rotunda at the cliff's edge, the sea 200 metres below, the Tramuntana curving around both sides — in late afternoon it all turns amber and the light does something I still haven't found words for.

Small capacity. Big feelings. Perfect for intimate ceremonies and elopements.

Son Mir

A proper Mallorcan finca near Marratxí — stone walls, wooden beams, terracotta, olive groves. Son Mir has the warmth of somewhere lived-in rather than designed, and enough variety to fill a full day of photography: interior rooms, garden ceremony, golden hour in the estate, dancing under the stars. My go-to recommendation for couples who want to actually celebrate.

Son Collell

Near Banyalbufar, hidden away in a way that feels intentional. Old stone draped in wisteria, a chapel that belongs in a novel, grounds that shift between wild and quietly perfect. No big panoramic wow — just atmosphere. Come in spring if you can. The whole place smells incredible.

Son Berga

A 17th-century estate in the Tramuntana foothills with the kind of scale that makes you feel small in a good way. High stone archways, a grand courtyard, surrounded by woodland. It suits couples who want something with a bit of grandeur to it — not flashy, just genuinely old and beautiful.

Finca Comassema

Hidden in the mountains above Orient, one of the most remote and beautiful villages in Mallorca, Comassema is not for everyone — and that's exactly what makes it special. The drive up alone tells you you're somewhere different. The estate is vast, wild, and surrounded by the Tramuntana in every direction. Couples who choose it tend to be people who want their wedding to feel like a genuine escape. Completely off the tourist trail and unforgettable for it.

Jardines de Alfabia

The gardens here are unlike anything else on the island. Arabesque fountains, ancient plane trees, waterfalls, pergolas covered in wisteria — it's a bit of a wonderland. As a photographer I'm almost embarrassed by how good the light gets here in the late afternoon. Ideal for couples who love lush, green, romantic settings.

Finca Morneta

Understated and elegant, Morneta sits in the countryside with views across fields and distant hills. The interiors are beautifully restored — think whitewashed walls, antique stone, nothing overdone. It attracts couples who know exactly what they want and don't need to be impressed: just a beautiful, quiet place to get married.

Casal Santa Eulalia

A 13th-century estate near Santa Maria that manages to feel both historic and completely liveable. Beautiful chapel on site, stunning garden, a long alley of palm trees that I never get tired of photographing. One of the most complete venues on the island — ceremony, reception, accommodation, all in one place.

Sa Pedrissa

Back on the northwest coast, not far from Son Marroig, Sa Pedrissa is a boutique hotel perched above the sea with terraces, olive trees, and views that guests talk about for years. It's smaller and more intimate than most venues on this list, which is precisely its appeal. Feels like a private house party, in the best possible way.

There's no wrong answer here. The real question is what kind of day you want.

Cliffs and drama → Son Marroig or Sa Pedrissa.

Full celebration with room for everyone → Son Mir or Casal Santa Eulalia.
